Two hundred students from Los Angeles Unified School District and schools in St. Petersburg, Russia, jointly displayed their Sister City links. Eighty Two paintings were created by the children of the Transit orphanage in St. Petersburg. The event sponsored by LAUSD Arts Education Branch and Los Angeles-St. Petersburg.
The event sponsored by LAUSD Arts Education Branch and Los Angeles-St. Petersburg Sister City Committee, is designed to foster cooperation and cultural exchange through the arts between the two cities and stimulate mutual understanding of their studends. After the exhibition closes in Los Angeles, the student artwork will travel to St. Petersburg where it will be displayed as part of the white night's Master Class International Arts Festival. The art work of Russion Children is auctioned to raise funds to support their orphanage.
